About the Exhibition
Leave a commentA boundary used to segregate or protect, a wall can separate two spaces in the same way that it can define a designated area. Obstructive or constructive, walls surround us within and around our homes and schools, places of worship, work, entertainment and leisure.
Made of stone, brick, cement or wood; high or short; decaying, century-old walls remind us of the past and newly constructed walls reflect the ideals of our time. Walls are constructs of our society, but they can also develop within us, obstructing our ability to see our full potential.
We welcome you to ‘If Walls Could Talk’ an exhibition of the work of 10 contemporary artists as they each explore the defining characteristics of ‘walls’ from structural, theoretical and philosophical perspectives.
